Klawer Wine Cellar is situated approximately three hours drive north of Cape Town on the N7 highway. While traveling from Cape Town to Klawer you will experience a region of breathtaking beauty and diversity. Nestled in a valley between the towns of Clanwilliam and Vredendal lies the small farming community of Klawer. Winemaking in the area is a tradition that Klawer Wine Cellar continues with pride.

Klawer Wine Cellar was founded in 1956 as a co-operative for this small farming community. Initially a bulk cellar, for years Klawer sold its wines on to other companies, who then bottled and resold them under their own names. Due to the high quality of the wines produced, the stock began selling out year after year.

As the 21st century dawned, we realized it was time to select our best vines and sell them under the Klawer Cellar label. Therefore, our dynamic, young management team ensures that only the very best of our wines are bottled under the Klawer Cellar private label. Every bottle of Klawer Cellar wine is a product of our rich tradition and passion.
